PULP BOY is an ironic and slap-stick comedy in the style and traditions of such directors and performers as Woody Allen, Mel Brooks, John Candy, Will Ferrel, Steve Martin, Chris Farley, and Robin Williams, following the story of Emerson LaSalle, once the greatest science fiction author of his day, now an outdated old hack trying to regain his former glory.
LaSalle, in his middle age, has just completed his latest and greatest novel, Princess Calamari at the Edge of Space Time, but finds that his agency is dropping him. He embarks on a promotional tour to try and get back on top, but encounters complication after complication running amuck of crazed fans, mobs of zealous convention goers, and slick TV executives. On top of it all, his young nemesis, Stone Q. Mann has stepped in as the new top sci-fi author, and can't help but rub it in LaSalle's face. The Public Relations specialist Amanda Crownthistle, as pretty as she is professional, assists and supports LaSalle as he tries to find his new place in the ever changing world and to leave his mark as one of the most beloved sci-fi writers of all time.

LaSalle is not a real person, but he does exist in a very real way for many. He is of the same substance that makes up Pecos Bill, Paul Bunyan, and John Henry - a folk hero of sorts, though, perhaps an anti-hero on the surface. Just "Google" his name, and you will be greeted with thousands and thousands of fantastic quotes, stories, and "LaSalle-isms" that have grown over the years. A fantastic mozaic of his ficticious life has unfolded throughout the blogs, twitters, and web pages of those who love him, and now he is finally making his way to the big screen.
